Brian Dunn loves social media

The Social Media-enthusiast Brian J Dunn, Best Buy’s CEO, recently made the experience how it feels when being hacked:

Blogging and Tweeting about a variety of private and business related subjects like about his kids, his experience in Best Buy stores or his impressions of and with Business partners, suddenly one subject stood out in an surprising way:

The “unusual” message “I’ve been having a lot of great sex lately, and here’s why” on his twitter account caused quite some reactions and a short crisis @ Best Buy internally:
recognizing that the password of their CEO was hacked, the IT department reacted quickly and put some additional security steps in place to avoid any future digital intruders…

Today Brian Dunn says he learned his lesson: he changes his password frequently and despite the headaches Social Media can cause, he still loves to keep posting in purpose to spot trends and to communicate with employees and customers.

discarded tires - what to do with them?

Disposing old tires adheres quite some challenges when it comes to think about the environmental aspect.

The Austrian WIL AG has the answer:
recycle and use the newly gained material internationally for playgrounds, manufacturing and industrial purposes.

This is how they put their effort into sustainable recycling and how they market new products: from the wire to playgrounds - maybe your child is playing on one of these… ;-)

The iPod ecosystem

One could think that in times of iPhone and iPad the times of the iPod are over – but on the contrary:
Steve Jobs said once “like the portable CD player revolutionized the mobility in the 80ies, the iPod will revolutionize 2K – and he was right:

If it is music, videos or sports, the iPod reaches and appeals all kinds of target groups. It inspires its users to share their most treasured, private and fun moments and activates them to change their life styles. Some of these geeks are so into it, that they develop gadgets and even features for the iPod.

According to Apple, which meanwhile confirms Kane Kramer as the inventor of the origin iPod, an average iPod-user spends about 150 USD for gadgets.

Find here some inventions inspired by loyal and enthusiastic iPod-users:
- Nike & iPod Sport Kit
- Kensington International Travel Charger for iPod and iPhone
- the cool iwearable-bags from urban tool
And for all iFans – join the iPod-community! ;-)

Wake up! - the iPhone clock hassle...

It's an old law: winners provoke jealousy and therefore criticism:
When the iPhone clock gave troubles when turning the clocks from normal time to summer time (daylight saving time (DST)) and back, the critics of malfunction could be calmed down quite easily.

Now, entering the New Year, the same bug occured and could not be solved by Apple until January 3.

Certainly this causes criticism and others are just mocking around a bit – some in quite a funny way:
Mashable, e.g., gave some hints how to install a reliable clock ;-) and Padmini Harchandrai (CNN) summarizes as the following:
"Really Apple? Y2K was so ten years ago!"
